Fremont, Nevada (KMTV) —A Fremont officer was sent to a residence on South Klarmar Avenue on Friday afternoon, and officials said men were threatening to hurt themselves with their weapons.
After the police arrived, they say the man swung his gun and left the dwelling.
Fremont police say the suspect fired at least one bullet from the gun and the policeman fired a weapon and beat the man.
A release issued by Lieutenant Ed Watts states that police provided medical assistance until the arrival of Fremont rescue workers. The man was transferred to Fremont Methodist Health, but his condition is unknown at this time.
Investigations are ongoing and police will continue to be present in the area of the incident.
In accordance with state law, Nebraska Patrol is leading a shooting investigation involving police officers.
