Lincoln, Nebraska (AP) — Northeastern Nebraska officials pressure states to complete a long four-lane highway delay system to connect all communities of over 15,000 to interstate highways. I’m continuing.
Thirty-three years after the highway system was launched in 1988, about 178 miles of the 600-mile system remain revoked.
Concerns about the project led to a group of state senators and a lobbying group of local businesses and cities called 4 Lanes 4 Nebraska to drive progress in the state legislature this spring.
Transport Department officials say progress is being made, even if it’s not coming as fast as some people want.
