El Reno, Oklahoma) – New safety concerns surround the popular lime scooter. Electric vehicles have recently rolled into downtown Elrino.

“Lime scooters are pilot projects. They were only valid for a week,” said Mayor Elrino Matt White.

But the newly discovered fun comes with serious warnings. City officials said residents could be injured if they did not follow road rules.

The safety conversation began when police officers shared a post on Facebook and warned residents that they would not comply with traffic laws after a close phone call during patrol.

“I arrived at a four-way stop sign, and one of the boys, a teenager, ran a stop sign in front of me,” said Elrino officer Troy George.

Another issue is underage users.

The Lime app has strict guidelines that riders must be 18 years old to ride.

When parents allow their children to make purchases using payment methods, they become responsible for what happens to their children.

“We want to prevent people from getting hurt and make sure they are of the right age,” White said.

Police said they would watch the rider carefully. At the same time, they want the rider to do so

Remember the potential danger of not following the rules of the road.

“Every time we find someone to ride a scooter, something can happen,” George said.

City officials said they would monitor the new pilot program for a month. If that doesn’t work, they make adjustments.
