Kent, Ohio (WJW) —Some local universities are changing their student and staff return plans based on the new Mask Guidance at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ohio State University Requirees everyone to report vaccination status by Thursday, August 5th.
“That data will influence many of the decisions we make this fall, and perhaps this spring,” said spokesman Ben Johnson.
Ohio State University said students living on campus must be taken home COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Infection) Test at least 7 days before returning. Then they need to take another test when they get there. The OSU plan was born with new CDC guidance recommending that even fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors in areas where COVID-19 is increasing.
Kent State University has also revised its guidance on campus masks. Starting Wednesday, Kent State University strongly recommends that both vaccinated and unvaccinated people wear face covers indoors.
“For all of COVID, no one really understands what’s going on at the end of the day,” said student Mario Nunez.
Kent State University students responded to changes on Wednesday night.
“Everything is changing at a fast pace. I don’t know what’s going on. If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. That doesn’t matter,” says student Jasper Robinson. I did.
Kent State University also announced that all campus buildings have needlepoint bipolar ionization units to enhance air purification and filtration. In addition to classroom space, this technology has been introduced in dormitories, student centers, sports facilities and more.
