Monday, November 29th, will begin the 2021 gun season for everyone.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Wildlife estimates that approximately 300,000 hunters will leave the state’s forests and fields.
The gun season lasts until November 5th, with additional weekends on December 18th and 19th.
Hunters can only take one Eld’s deer. Legal hunting equipment for all deer gun seasons includes specific shotguns, muzzle-loading guns, handguns, straight-wall cartridge rifles, and archery equipment.

According to ODNR, hunters harvested 92,310 deer during the 2020 season.
“Ohio is a deer-rich state and has built a national reputation for quality deer hunting based on sound long-term wildlife management for this important resource,” said Wildlife Director Kendra Wecker.
