The new license plate is a banner that crosses the horizon and says “The birthplace of aviation,” indicating the sun’s rays shining into the sky. However, the banner that should have been attached to the back of the plane was attached to the front.
After the unveiling, Ohio officials said in a statement that they were aware of the accident and that it would be modified to display a banner behind the plane before Ohio citizens upgrade their plates.
We know that the new Ohio license plate plane announced this morning was pointing in the wrong direction. I regretted this mistake and corrected the image. This is the correct design that will be reflected in every new plate issued to Ohio drivers. ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/HAire7kr9M

Ohio isn’t the only state to make this exaggerated mistake. The front of the Wright Flyer is often mistaken for the rear because the propellers of the plane were located at the rear instead of the front.
The plate will land on the market on December 29th.
