OHP, National Guard team up to respond to emergencies – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa, Oklahoma 2021-02-12 21:36:55 –

Tulsa, Oklahoma-State authorities are urging you to stay off the road if possible during this winter’s weather.

If you find yourself stuck outside, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the National Guard can help.

The two groups are working together to respond to I-44, I-40, and I-35 emergencies. If you get stuck, call 911 and the team will follow your path.

Depending on the situation and the number of calls, it may take several hours for the team to contact you.

“Be careful if you’re traveling with this. We have to travel under the same conditions to bring you,” said Eric Foster of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. “So it can be very dangerous. It may take a long time for us to get there.”

If you’re on the road, be prepared to keep your car safe and warm in case something goes wrong and you need to wait for help.
