Maggie Jigman has traveled the country for 16 years.
A journey to find the answer about who killed his daughter Brittany Phillips in Tulsa’s apartment in 2004.
“I have traveled about 260,000 miles in 48 states,” Zigman said.
Brittany graduated from Union High School and went to college in Florida. After her first semester, Brittany became homesick and returned to Tulsa.
After that, she enrolled in Tulsa Community College and got her apartment directly opposite the old high school.
“We had never heard of anything wrong,” Zigman said.
But a few months later, something really bad happened.
It was September 2004.
“On Tuesday 28th, I tried to call her, but I didn’t get an answer,” Zigman said. “I called her 29th, but I didn’t get an answer.”
Maggie was worried and left a desperate message, but Brittany did not contact him.
A few hours later, Maggie woke up by knocking on the door.
A police officer across the door told her that Brittany had died.
Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalade was a murder investigator at the time in the Tulsa police.
Legalado says the Brittany murderer is likely to have previously stalked her.
“Anyone who killed her that night probably met her before and knew she lived in the apartment,” Legalado said.
Legalado came up with 276 suspects who lived in or near the dwellings.
“I’m talking about the theft of women’s underwear. I’m talking about Tom Peeping, I’m talking about rape,” Legalado said.
In 2019, DNA led the suspect’s potential. However, the person was cleared.
