Olympic Men’s Street Skateboarding: Nyjah Huston Aims for Gold Medal – Live! | Sports

OK, let’s straighten this …

Start with a “run” where the skater performs a full-fledged routine that incorporates ramps, rails and jumps throughout the course. Each skater gets two.

Then proceed to the one-time “trick”. Jump on, jump on rails, or go somewhere and move the board to land. If you are interested in gymnastics, there are many obstacles, but you can draw a “run” as a floor exercise and a “trick” as a vault. Each skater gets 5 of these.

In other words, a total of seven attempts to show who’s skill is paying for it.Each skater will drop three Seven of them. It can be a run or a trick.

For example, let’s take a look at the top three qualifiers.

Jiro had 9.00 and 8.85 on his run. Extraordinary. Then he hit 8.63 on his first trick. It’s three important scores, all of which are great. So when he missed the next trick at 0.00, it wasn’t alarming. When he scored 8.94 on the third trick, he counted four scores, all very high. The only way to improve that score was to do better than the lowest score so far, the first trick of 8.63. And he did so at 9.09.

Eaton also dropped things with his third trick. His runs were 8.58 and 8.52. He missed the first trick, but landed the next two (7.95 and 8.63). That’s a good score he made good at 9.34 in the last trick.

Houston has come a long way. After bobbing in the middle of his first run, he got 7.52. The second time I saved the slip-up at the end of the run and got 8.12. Then he missed the first two tricks.

Now let’s get the stake-Houston had only two scores above 0 after trying four times to get some points. He had to do something big with two of the following three: He started relief efforts at 8.66. not bad. Then the star 9.13. That would have been enough for him to qualify, but he did better and ended up at 8.96. It caused him to drop 7.52 from his first run.

It will make sense when you look at it. Really.

It is no exaggeration to say that Jagger Eaton dropped this score. Photo: Jae C Hong / AP
