Knoxville, Tennessee (WATE) — Tennessee is bound for Omaha. The Vols baseball team hit five home runs in the first five innings on Saturday, defeating LSU 15-6 and returning to the first College World Series since 2005.

In a powerful game, both teams fired the ball from Lindsey Nelson Stadium. A total of 10 home runs including Vols and Tigers.

Jake Lacquer fired a home run derby in the middle of the left back in the first inning. He followed it up the second time in every third.

LSU Ace’s Landon Marceau entered the match on Sunday just by giving up a total of five home runs during the season. After he gave up two in the first few innings, Mainieri went to his bullpen to find another solution. Freshman pitcher Garrett Edwards started four innings on the Tigers mound, but only followed Marceau’s steps.

Freshman pitcher Blake Tidwell scored his 13th win of the season, hitting seven hits, including four home runs, and hitting seven hits in seven innings.

Marceau lost in a short break. Tigers head baseball coach Paul Mainieri said he wanted to give Marceau another day’s rest after Eugene Regional and decided to put him in the second game. But instead of resting, he looked rusty and took some time to settle on the mound.

Tennessee also continues to move undefeated streak to 6-0 in Super Regional play as a program. Vols has hit 11 home runs in the last three games.
