If former Boston Mayor Martin Walsh was interested in running for Governor of Massachusetts next year, he didn’t show it when asked about the race during a national radio appearance on Friday morning.
After discussing the latest National Employment Report on Bloomberg Radio, Walsh was asked if he had more personal work to do in his current role as US Secretary of Labor.
Democratic Walsh, who is said to be considering a governor’s election in the wake of Governor Charlie Baker’s decision not to seek a third term, confirms with Bloomberg’s Jonathan Ferro some of his secretarial priorities. “There is no doubt about it,” he said. ..
Walsh said when Ferro asked Walsh for speculation that he might want to return to Massachusetts to run for governor. As I said, I have a lot to do here at the Ministry of Labor. “
When Ferro asked if it was true or wrong that he was interested in racing, Walsh did not answer directly, but instead talked about how closely he worked with Baker. Next, Ferro asked if people should read that they refused to answer the direct question.
“There is no signal,” Walsh said. “I love my job here.”
