According to the State Department, Minnesota has another death from COVID-19 and an increase of 561 cases of coronavirus.
The most recent deaths were caregivers in Ramsey County in their 80s, with 6,433 deaths since the outbreak began in March 2020. Of these deaths, 4,038 are residents of long-term care facilities.
There were 479,591 infections diagnosed by laboratory tests. There are 466,311 people who have fully recovered from the coronavirus and no longer need to be quarantined.
Minnesota has given 1.1 million doses of coronavirus vaccine. There are 759,747 who received at least one dose and 356,911 who received both shots.
Minnesota has administered at least one vaccine to nearly 42% of the state’s 919,000 elderly people.
Both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines should be given twice at intervals of 3-4 weeks for the best immune response.
