Greenville County, South Carolina (WSPA) – One person was arrested last week in connection with the death of a man found in a parking lot in Greenville County.
Investigators at the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office arrested in connection with September 15. Jeffrey Grant’s Murder It happened at the Hanover Mortgage Parking Lot in Wade Hampton Boulevard.
On Tuesday, lawmakers say 28-year-old Dustin Linhammond was detained by Greenville police after answering a call on South Meminger Street regarding a service call. Hammond was then transferred to the sheriff’s office for prosecution.
Investigators learned that Hammond and the victim were together before the incident. At around 1 am, the two returned from the Intown Suites motel to the Hanover Mortgage parking lot, according to the sheriff’s office.
Upon entering the parking lot, for unknown reasons, Hammond boarded the 2006 Honda Accord, which was stolen on September 13 in an unrelated incident, accelerating towards the victims and beating him in the process. Said the agent.
According to the sheriff’s office, Hammond then backed up and attacked the victims in cars many times, resulting in his death.
Hammond is currently at the Greenville County Detention Center, facing charges of car murder and theft, and investigators say he is waiting for a hearing.
