Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —According to the Portland Police Department, three cars crashed in Northwest Portland early Saturday, killing one driver and injuring several others.

Due to the accident report, a police officer was dispatched to the intersection of Northwest Grisan Street and Northwest 14th Avenue just before 3 am. According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a car heading west in Northwest Grisan collided with a car running north on the 14th northwest.

The PPB said the driver of a vehicle traveling west of Grisan died in a crash.

“The other two drivers were slightly injured and were treated on-site,” police said Saturday. “Three passengers from three different vehicles were taken to a local hospital. A seriously injured person.”

The PPB Major Crash Team has taken over the investigation.

The accident on Saturday was the 34th road fatalities in Portland in 2021.
