Virginia Beach, Virginia (WAVY) —Operation Smile, a global non-profit organization headquartered in Virginia Beach, disseminates information about volunteering.
The first two student volunteers we met in high school, Bridget Clifford and Danny Rosin, are now working together again to bring awareness and funding to the organization.
Operation Smile takes care of children born with cleft lip and palate.
The two were part of the organization’s first student volunteers and reunited at Norfolk Academy High School.
“Danny and I have been in touch for all these years. He has always been very supportive of what we are doing,” Clifford said.
Clifford is the director of student strategic initiatives.
“We’ve been wanting to sell the Swags, Operation Smile T-shirts, hoodies, and hats we call for years. People are always looking for it,” Clifford said. .. Rosin is a co-founder of Brand Fuel, a promotional agency.
She says she and Rosin are back in partnership to make this happen, raise awareness, and hopefully raise some money for the organization.
“After a lot of research and conversation, this is very exciting. We are planning to launch our first online shop with them on Tuesday, December 1st,” she said.
She usually says that during this period they go on missions and bring shirts to people, but because of COVID-19, that made it difficult.
She says the timing of this launch is perfect.
Clifford says volunteering as a student has really influenced her life, and they are always looking for volunteers to join in to help as many people as possible.
