Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Vaccination rates for Oregon workers on the mission of Governor Kate Brown change hourly as the deadline for midnight on Monday approaches.

Health care

Some hospitals are 100% compliant, while others are waiting to share final figures until Tuesday.

Major hospitals shared preliminary vaccination rates: Salem Health 89%, Legacy 95%, OHSU 96%, Providence 97%.

Although they are 89% vaccinated, Salem Health said they are 100% in compliance with their obligations. They approved approximately 490 exemptions. An additional 44 employees are on unpaid leave. This is less than 1% of the staff.

At OHSU, they approved 24 religious and medical exemptions, with an additional 30 pending.

school

The largest school districts in Oregon have achieved high immunization rates of 97% for Beaverton, 98% for Salem, and 96% for Portland.

Sharon Reese, Head of Human Resources at PPS, said the vaccine status is updated every minute. At this time, only about 3% of employees are non-compliant, including about 9 teachers.

“We have a small number of employees who can take vacations,” Reese said. “We handle their termination.”

School staff who do not have a vaccination certificate or approved exemption will not be able to work in any of Oregon’s school systems.

NS Oregon Correctional Bureau He said their numbers are also changing from hour to hour. The total preliminary compliance shows a vaccination rate of 67% with an exemption rate of 20%. As a result, more than 500 DOC employees remain unidentified.

KOIN 6 News has contacted Governor Brown’s officers to confirm immunization and tax exemption rates for government employees, but has not responded at the time of this writing.
