John Means scored six innings, Ryan Mountcastle scored three RBIs and the Baltimore Orioles beat host Detroit Tigers 5-2 on Saturday.

Means (5-3) gave up 6 strikeouts in 6 innings and 1 run in 4 hits. He recorded his first victory since May 5th. The means was on the sidelines for more than 6 weeks due to tension in the left shoulder, and started for the third time after being activated.

Maikel Franco provided Baltimore with a solo homer, and Pat Valaika provided two RBIs and two RBIs. Cedric Mullins and Ramon Urias have each reached the Orioles base three times, winning six of the last eight games.

Cole Sulser recorded his fifth save, evading nine jams.

Tigers starter Matt Manning (2-4) gave up 7 hits, 5 runs and 2 goals in 5 2/3 innings. Eric Haase hit a solo home run.

Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera extended his batter to seven games in his second lead-off single. Jeimer Candelario added a one-out hit, but Willi Castro fouled out and Zack Short went on strike, stalling the runners.

Baltimore topped the third with two outruns. Mullins took the single out with one out and the second place with two downs. Mountcastle then hit a bloop that fell in front of the dive center fielder Derek Hill, and Malins scored.

The Tigers were Haas’s team’s best 18th Homer and tied it 4th.

The Orioles regained the lead in fifth place with Franco’s lead-off homer, who barely crossed the left-wing wall.

Baltimore extended their lead to 5-1 in 6th place, but Manning deserved a better fate.

The Orioles loaded the base with one out in one and two walks. Then Pedro Severino jumped out and Franco hit a regular grounder to make Shortstop a shortstop. He threw it at second baseman Castro. Castro dropped a throw when Ran scored. Baraika then hit a two-run single to the right to finish Manning’s night.

Detroit loaded the ninth base against Tanner Scott with two walks and a hit by pitch. Salcer replaced him and Akil Baddoo scored the RBI. Salsar then ended the game by beating Derek Hill and Jonathan Scoop.
