Denver — Wednesday Downtown Denver Partnership Welton Street Renaissance Project will host the unveiling ceremony of the Five Point Outdoor Mural Gallery.

The outdoor gallery is a one-time installment payment for the Welton Street Renaissance Project, which wants to bring more public art to the Five Points district of Denver.

“Just go out and experience all that joy. You can see the artist and feel the emotional response of the physical reaction,” said gallery curator Robert Gray. I am.

The murals are created by African-American artists, and each piece contains technology components that allow visitors to learn more about the artist, the history of Five Point, and information about Renaissance projects.

Gray told Denver 7 that he hopes the outdoor gallery will bring more visitors to the five points.

“We all know about the gentrification that happened at Five Point. This is now known as RiNo. Through regular street art and the acquisition of international artists … that beautiful art, We’ve shifted a lot of that foot traffic to stay in that one area, so we really want to use art and technology to fight it, “Gray said.

Quant Atlas of the Downtown Denver Partnership told Denver 7 that visitors want to take the time to patronize the business in the area.

“Our intention is not only to check out the murals, but also to check out local businesses. There are some of the best companies owned by minorities and women in this corridor,” said Atlas. I am.

The unveiling event begins at 6 pm at Five Point Plaza at Avenue and Wellton Street.

An outdoor gallery will also open to celebrate Juneteenth.
