Yukon, OklahomaKFOR) — Tensions increased when the board of Yukon Public Schools on Monday night demanded that a woman end her mask obligations in just a few days remaining in the school year.

“You gave our children a non-medical mask!” The woman shouted inside. Livestreaming Event. “This isn’t about COVID, it’s about control!”

“People’s feelings are their feelings. You can’t cut down what you’re feeling because it’s not what I’m feeling,” the director told News 4.

Sharon Schweitzer, an etiquette expert and founder of Access to Culture, agreed with the director.

“I think we’re here because people aren’t civil and people are willing to speak their hearts. They’re more individualistic now,” Schweizer said. ..

Meanwhile, Yukon’s director said people need to check themselves to see if they are speaking up.

“Citizens’ debate is the best way to get close to it. That’s what I tried to model at last night’s board meeting.” He said, “I believe in humanity.”
