Corpus Christi, Texas — Continued efforts to support Corpus Christi’s drifting problem.
On Friday, People Assisting Animal Control, known as PAAC, received a $ 75,000 grant to cover free contraceptive and castration services for the community.
Nonprofits have also donated $ 200,000 for that purpose.
PAAC is working with Corpus Christi’s Animal Care Services to perform contraceptive and neutering surgery on animals, reducing the number of stray dogs in the area. We also offer several other services.
“I’m tired of seeing these animals here and there,” said PAAC President Cheryl Martinez. “We are targeting the areas we need.”
Pets do not need to have contraceptive or neutering surgery, but the city does require the use of microchips. This is also possible with PAAC.
Call 361-248-2009 to make an appointment.
PAAC is located at 5804 Ayers St. and also has a mobile clinic.
