Honolulu (KHON2) — A Hawaiian firefighter extinguished a carport and vehicle fire in Pahoa, causing damage of approximately $ 20,000 on Sunday, October 24th.

The incident happened just before 2:00 pm on Nue Street, according to people familiar with the matter. Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 2:03 pm and found that the vehicle was completely in flames and the free-standing carport in the crate was partially burning.

Authorities reported that the owner of the vehicle had arrived home and found his vehicle burning. The property’s residential structure has not been damaged and no injuries have been reported.

Firefighters extinguished the flames at around 2:25 pm, with an estimated damage of $ 20,000. It is currently unknown what caused the incident.
