Painesville, Ohio (WJW) — A 4-year-old boy who fell into a pond Painesville Police said it had fully recovered last weekend.

Boy identified as Paolo Moctesma, He was rescued by an officer after drowning on Saturday. He was taken to the Metro Health Medical Center and released on Tuesday. (Watch the video above for more information on incidents and rescues.)

According to police, two of the three police officers who helped save his life — Sgt. Matthew Thaicast and Officer Daniel Thompson — I was surprised at the return of Moctesma. They visited the children’s home and brought a gift basket full of toys and police memorabilia.

Moctesma’s parents, Jose and Anna, are reportedly very grateful to law enforcement members and paramedics for helping save their son’s life.

The Painesville Police Department thanked everyone involved in the rescue. The agency said the corresponding police officer “couldn’t be proud anymore” and wants the Moctesma family to have a “safe, happy and healthy summer.”

Police also remind parents that it is very important to discuss water safety with their children at an early age.
