Lincoln County Prosecutor Michael Wood was charged with murder against Pamela Happ in connection with Betsy Faria’s 2011 death on Monday, as well as in the first investigation that could lead to criminal charges. His office has announced that it has revealed illegal acts by the prosecution and police.
Lincoln County, Missouri (KMOV.com) – One of the accusations against Pamela Happ has been withdrawn.
Earlier this year, Hupp was charged with a single murder and armed criminal procedure in connection with Betsy Faria’s death. On September 8, court records showed that the charges in the armed criminal procedure had been dismissed.
Faria was stabbed 55 times at her home in Troy, Missouri, in December 2011. According to a statement of possible causes, Faria’s husband Russell called 911 after returning home and finding him dead in a burrow. He initially told the dispatcher that he had previously considered suicide after discovering that she had breast cancer.
Pam Happ was acquitted in court on Tuesday for murdering Betsy Faria.
First responders noticed puncture wounds and lacerations on Faria’s head, face, neck, torso, and arms. Happ became a key figure in the case because she was the last person to see Faria alive. Four days before the fatal puncture wound, Happ became the only beneficiary of Faria’s $ 150,000 life insurance policy. According to court documents, Happ promised to distribute money to Faria’s two daughters and mother because Faria had a “armed problem.” She later returned to the investigator, claiming that the money was her own. Despite this evidence, Hupp was not considered a suspect by the first investigator.
News 4 will contact the Lincoln County Public Prosecutor’s Office for more information on the withdrawn claim and will update this article when it becomes available.
