Panama City, FL – A wetter weekend in store

Panama City, FL –

PANAMA CITY, Florida WEATHER (WMBB) — Another round of warm temperatures will end the scorching week, but refreshing changes are on the way for the weekend.

Afternoon highs will hit the 100 degree mark at many inland locations while remaining in the mid 90s along the coast.

The sea breeze will come in from the gulf on Friday afternoon, with a few showers or sporadic thunderstorms expected. Areas around I-10 and the Forgotten Shore can expect more humidity than others.

A few isolated showers or thunderstorms will also be possible overnight, due to a surface depression positioned to our east.

This low pressure will give way to a wetter day on Saturday with a 60-70% chance of rain for much of the day. The first rounds of showers and thunderstorms can be expected by mid-morning, with additional activity for the afternoon and early evening.

A 50% chance for showers and storms will persist on Sunday, with temperatures cooling down a bit. High temperatures are expected between 90 and 95 degrees.

The region returns to a regular summer pattern on Monday and Tuesday, with chance of rain reserved for the afternoon and seasonally high temperatures in the 90s.
