Panama City, FL – Arnold Girls Weightlifting team receives state championship rings

Panama City, FL –

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida (WMBB) – The Arnold Girls Weightlifting team received championship rings on Sunday for their state title win five months ago.

The Marlins completed three rounds in February and Arnold weightlifter Amerie Daniels said all the hard work paid off.

“We spent four years, four summers, 6 am practicing every day of the summer except Sunday and Saturday,” Daniels said. “And I know I didn’t have a summer in all of my high school years, but it was totally worth it.”

The senior class of the weightlifting team has enjoyed one of the most dominant races Bay County has ever seen, winning every meet it has competed in in the past three seasons.

Weightlifter Emily Oliver said she is very proud of her team but thrilled to leave good representation for future generations at Arnold.

“It’s exciting for me,” said Oliver. “Because I can share it with them, and like people who are new and are just starting out, it gives them a chance to like to invest in it more, and like to know that they can do it too, because that like we all started where they were, and then we moved on to that.
