Panama City, FL – Battle of the Marching Bands: Panhandle schools compete at Tommy Oliver Stadium

Panama City, FL –

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Marching bands from across the Panhandle marched to Bay County for a brass band battle on Saturday.

14 schools participated in the Florida Bandmasters Association’s District 2 Marching Band Musical Performance Assessment.

The Tommy Oliver stadium was packed and the marching bands were able to strut their stuff after putting in hours of work getting ready.

Autumn Futch, with the CHS group, said it was a lot of work between several practices a week and soccer games every Friday night.

However, she ultimately said it was all worth it.

“We’re working so hard to get here and it was really great to be able to play and show our hard work,” said Futch.

Futch said her favorite thing about the group is the friendships she has made throughout her time.

The evening ended with a performance of “South of the South” by the University of Troy.
