BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Salvation Army in Panama City is looking for vacation volunteers for their Red Kettle campaign.
Volunteers will ring the bells in front of the red kettles set up in Bay County to help raise funds for the organization.
According to the Salvation Army Facebook page, every dollar raised in the red kettles supports the wide range of services and programs provided throughout the year. This includes feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, providing emergency financial assistance, providing toys for children, and running after-school programs. This year, the Salvation Army in Panama City hopes to raise approximately $ 80,000.

News 13 team members will be ringing the bell at various locations in Bay County ahead of Christmas. If you would like to meet them and donate to the Red Kettle Campaign, here is a list of the dates, places and times you can find our crew:
- Tuesday, December 7 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST at the door of Lynn Haven Walmart (off Highway 77)
- Tuesday, December 14 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST at the main entrance of Panama City Walmart (excluding W 23rd St.)
- Tuesday, December 21 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST at the door of the Walmart store at Panama City Beach Pier Park
Corps officer Major Edward Binnix said the Salvation Army in Panama City also recently received as a gift a 40-foot shower unit with eight showers inside, self-contained with its own tanks and water heaters. . He said they would use it to help those in the community who do not have access to good hygiene. Major Binnix said it was a gift of around $ 75,000 and now they need a ton truck to help them pull it.
