Panama City, FL –
MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WDHN) – A woman from Dothan has been convicted of conspiring with a friend to bomb her ex-boyfriend’s van.
Court records show a federal judge in Montgomery convicted Ashley Nicole Haydt, 36, of Dothan on charges of explosives and conspiracy on Thursday.
Authorities allege King was working with Haydt when he purchased gunpowder, a hose and other materials to make a remote bomb. The two are said to have proposed the plan during a legal dispute between Haydt and a former boyfriend with whom she has a child.
Court documents indicate that his co-defendant, Sylvio Joseph King, 48, has already pleaded guilty and testified against Haydt during the four-day trial. A bomb planted in Haydt’s former boyfriend’s work truck exploded in October 2017, injuring the man.
Police said King then texted Haydt telling him he had “fixed the problem.”
