Panama City, FL – Franklin deputies charge six in meth case

Panama City, FL –

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Florida (WMBB) – In Franklin County, most of the crimes that occur all lead to one drug – methamphetamine.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday said it had closed a large meth house in the community.

Judy Lee Chambers, 48, along with five other people were arrested.

“It’s a place we’ve been to in the past for the past two years. The same lady, Judy Chambers, was arrested for running a drug house, selling drugs, and now she’s doing it again, the Franklin County Sheriff said, AJ Smith said.

Almost all of the inmates at Franklin County Jail are there because of drugs, whether to sell, use or commit crimes to get drugs, he added.

MPs found drug paraphernalia in the house, including a needle full of liquid methamphetamine.

Smith said they are still looking for Jeffrey Nowling, 32, and Carrie Richards who are wanted for allegedly selling drugs at home.

“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated,” Smith said. “I mean they come and go freely out there, sell drugs, use drugs and it’s a really sad situation.”

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office offers rehabilitation for those who want to quit using drugs, but he said if people are not ready for help, they will have to face the consequences.

“If you don’t and we catch you with drugs, we’re going to put you in jail,” Smith said. “Because the community is fed up and we are fed up. “

Smith said he hopes Thursday’s raid will make progress in the community in the fight against the methamphetamine epidemic.
