Panama City, FL –
PANAMA CITY, Florida (WMBB) – FSU PC’s new Communication Club spent their Thursday morning loading boxes of toys to donate to “Toys for Tots”.
Spearheading the campaign was club president Regan Land.
“We just really wanted to help the community and really help the Toys for Tots campaign and bring a little Christmas spirit to Panama City,” Land said.
Members collected over 300 toys, valued at around $ 2,000.
Educational advisor Laurie Lawrence said she was proud of her students who she said worked extremely hard.
“They’ve done everything from marketing to campus, working with the community and even involving the community by dropping toys and donations here, they’ve just been really, really proactive and really excited and it almost gave it a Christmas spirit. at campus too, which is kind of fun, ”Lawrence said.
The toys are now in the company’s warehouse and will be distributed to children in Bay County over the next few weeks.
John Shepard and Bo Green are members of Bay County Toys for Tots which raised the donations Thursday.
Green’s favorite part about this project is knowing that the cause will benefit so many families in Bay County.
“There’s no reason a kid shouldn’t have a toy on Christmas morning, not with this big organization and other organizations all over town. So it’s just knowing on Christmas morning that someone wakes up happy, ”Green said.
The next “Toys for Tots” tour will be hosted by “Stuff the Bus” in the Walmart parking lot in Panama City on 23rd Street from December 5th to 15th.
