Panama City, FL –
MIRAMAR BEACH Florida (WMBB) – The search for a suspect continues after Walton County MPs said an employee was gunned down outside a Miramar Beach restaurant late Saturday night.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in trying to resolve the matter.
“The victim we found was an employee of the ‘Surf Hut’, he had been employed for a short time,” said Chief Audie Rowell of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Rowell said the sheriff’s office is continuously working with the victim’s family to help resolve the case.
“We think this was an isolated incident, we don’t think the general public was targeted in any way, we think the victim had some sort of confrontation with someone that he may have known about it, so we certainly think it’s an incident, ”Rowley said.
The sheriff’s office is hoping the public can help find a suspect. If you think you saw anything on February 27, be sure to contact investigators, also asking those who live nearby to check out any cameras they might face at The ‘Surf Hut’, property.
“Right now we’re looking for a dark colored type of SUV that may have left the area by this time,” Rowley said.
