GAINESVILLE, Florida. (WMBB) – Several athletes from four local high schools won or placed in their event at the Class 2A State Athletics Championships on Thursday.
Rutherford’s Shakirah Edwards took first place in the women’s high jump with a leap of 1.67m.
Jocelyn Eby of South Walton took first place in the women’s pole vault with a jump of 3.30m.
South Walton’s Josiah Kirspey took first place in the men’s 800 with a time of 154:95.
South Walton’s Dailyn Jones took second place in the women’s discus with a throw of 37.23m.
The South Walton women’s 4x800m relay team took fourth place and the North Bay Haven girls sixth.
South Walton’s Lawson Kilpatrick took fifth, Van Carter seventh and Bode Tibbs eighth in the boys’ pole vault.
Reece Knowlton of South Walton took 6th place in the women’s 1600m and seventh in the women’s 800m.
The South Walton women’s 4x400m relay team took seventh place.
Bay’s Naheah Smith finished seventh in the girls’ shot put.
Kaelon Garrity of South Walton took seventh place and Carson Forehand of Bay took eighth place in the boys javelin.
Josiah Dunlap of Bay was eighth in the men’s 110 hurdles.
