Panama City, FL –
BAY COUNTY, Florida (WMBB)– Summer is right around the corner, and if you’re looking to hit the beach or the pool, you’ll want to make sure your child is a strong swimmer in case of an emergency.
Since early 2000, the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County has provided swimming lessons to the community through grants.
“We live in an area surrounded by water, it is essential that people really learn to swim. Not only that, but also providing water safety rules and things like that for kids who aren’t necessarily around the water often,” said Boys and Girls Club CEO Hank Hill.
Lessons at club level start at the age of six, but there are also Mommy and Me lessons for younger children and beginner adult levels will be offered throughout the summer of 2022.
Seats fill up quickly and you can reserve your spot by calling 850-704-5789.
If your child also needs summer camp, the Boys and Girls Club is also looking to fill spots for its three locations.
“Not only do we do all the fun activities for the kids like dodgeball and arts and crafts, but we also organize activities that help them retain the knowledge they learned in school over the summer. .
