Panama City, FL –
Flash flood watch has been EXTENDED for Bay, Gulf, Calhoun, Franklin and Liberty counties until 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
A border that is slowly moving north will block moisture from a high pressure system over the Gulf of Mexico. With this boundary blocked in place and a south / southwest flow, scattered rains are expected for much of the work week. Total precipitation by Friday could range from 1 to 3 inches. Temperatures will peak mostly in the mid-1980s, until we get into the weekend. At this point, our typical summer pattern returns, in which we are not under the influence of any major weather system and mostly see scattered showers and storms. Temperatures will return to the 90s low on Saturday and Sunday.
