Panama City, FL – Santa to come to the Panhandle early with ‘Christmas at Harder’s Park’

Panama City, FL –

PANAMA CITY, Florida (WMBB) – Christmas is less than a month away, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a special appearance in Bay County ahead of the holidays at the Bay County Parks and Recreation ‘Christmas at Harder’s Park’ event taking place on December 11.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by helicopter through the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, and the event will take place at HG Harder’s Park located at 8110 John Pitts Rd. In Panama City.

The county has been hosting the event for 15 years, but due to COVID-19 last year, the event had to be canceled. Parks and Recreation officials are happy that the event was able to return.

“It’s great to be able to reunite with families and children in the park for more than just sporting events,” said Travis Barbee, director of the Bay County Parks division.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature photos with Santa, a candy cane hunt with prizes, a Letters to Santa station and hot chocolate. The event is completely free and parents are encouraged to bring cameras to take pictures with Santa Claus.

“There is a lot to do for everyone. The kids will be divided into different age groups for candy cane hunting, and we plan to distribute 8,000 candy canes across the fields, ”said Barbee.

The Bay County Library will also host a mobile storytime program during the event.
