(FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – The Carolina Panthers are on their way back to Wofford College for a training camp in 2021 after not being held in Spartanberg for the first time since the team was launched in 1995.
“We are in talks with Wofford College and are excited about the possibility of returning to Spartanberg for a training camp,” a team spokesman told Fox 46.
The Panthers held a training camp at Bank of America Stadium last year, 25 years later in Wofford, due to the league’s COVID rules for holding camps at their training facilities.
The NFL has allowed the team to return to remote training camps this season with an approved plan.
The team has expanded its partnership with Woford University since 2020-21, as Rockhill’s future team headquarters is still under construction. The facility was originally scheduled to open in the summer of 2022, but was postponed to 2023 due to a pandemic.
