It led to a blockade and closed the scholarship fair to help children go to college.
The video shows parents fighting in the office and children fighting school security. The video shows two mothers fighting, and when police disband it, one says, “Don’t arrest me.”
“Do whatever you want. I took me off — and she walked over me, we quarreled, and that’s it,” said another parent.
Team I also requested a school case report that would break down multiple battles. Reportedly, one child jumped to the other six, and there were more fights out of school among more parents.
One report describes the school scene as “total confusion.”
Cleveland City Councilman Kevin Conwell and his wife have held scholarship fairs for many years. He recently told us that next year, after all of this trouble, the event is unlikely to take place in Glenville.
“We want to connect fathers and parents. We have to set an example and push out a good personality so that our children can see it,” Conwell said.
Police arrested one parent, Cassandra Swift, on the scene. She claims innocence.
At least 6 students have been suspended.
The blockade has hurt so many families that students are anxious to take a step towards college. In fact, the turmoil broke out, even though students from other schools were waiting to get inside.
Police say the parents fought because the children fought. In the video, a mother hears a policeman saying, “You are worse than your children.”
The I-Team also requested a security video from the school district so you can see more about what happened in the school.
