Jacob was in crisis at the hospital for nearly two weeks.

Below is a statement by Jacob’s parents, it reads:

Thanks to the ICU doctors, nurses and staff at Banner Tucson Hospital. They were really angels and we did not doubt that Jacob had the best care. May the love and compassion they have shown to our son be returned to you 100 times.

Moreover, the overflow of love and prayer from the cities of Tucson, Arizona and other people of this great country has supported us all this time. I know there are so many wonderful people in this country, from homeless men who ran to help immediately when Jake was shot, to thousands of people who prayed for his recovery. Are very grateful. We are a country of good and compassionate people who have incredible lots in common.

We would also like to thank our family, friends and Jakes friends who were here for us and dropped everything to be with him. They took care of us, nourished us, and comforted us during the darkest times of our lives.

Finally, we would like to thank the large AMR family and Jacob and all the institutions that have gathered for us. You have been there with us at every stage and helped us navigate through this tragic stormy and unknown sea. Jacob was lucky to find you, and we are blessed to be part of your family.

James and Colin Dindinger

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey ordered a half-mast in honor of him.
