Parents of twin boys face abuse charges in Colorado for allegedly causing babies’ injuries – Florence, South Carolina

Jefferson County, Colorado (KDVR) – The parents of a twin six-week-old boy in Colorado were arrested on Friday after police said they had severely abused their two children.

Injury investigators observed in boys include skull fractures, spinal cord injuries, leg fractures, rib fractures, genital injuries, burns, bruising around the face, and severe malnutrition.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, one of the twins was also positive for illegal narcotics.

Police arrested Jeremy Esposito, 34, and his wife, Johnel Esposito, for being seriously injured as a result of felony child abuse.

The agent learned of the abuse on October 3 when he responded to a report from hospital staff that the baby had been seriously injured.

The twins have older siblings. Twins receive child protection services and older siblings are with their families.

Esposito’s parents will be put on hold until a deposit is set at an advisory hearing scheduled for Monday at 10 am.
