A 36-year-old parole, seeking a good felony warrant, is facing a single murder charge for stabbing a man on the riverside last month, officials said Friday.
At around 8:35 pm on September 17, police officers responded to the East Side 3rd Avenue and Vine Street areas.
The neighborhood, just because of a puncture wound, Riverside police said in a news release.
Police arrived and found a man with a puncture wound in his neck. They began to carry out lifesaving measures on the victims until the arrival of rescue workers.
The victim, later identified as Riverside’s 34-year-old Ruben Derapaz, was taken to a local hospital where he died, police said.
During the investigation, the detective identified Riverside’s 36-year-old Reisalside as a suspected puncture wound, according to the agency.
The detective also determined that Salcido was currently on parole, wanted a good felony warrant, and fled to Northern California after being stabbed.
Salcido was placed in a residence in the city of Lodi and was safely arrested. He was handed over to Riverside County and booked at Robert Pressley Detention Center on October 15.
A primary murder charge has been filed against Salcido by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, and he is currently in custody without bail.
Investigation is ongoing.
