Jefferson City, Missouri (KMOV.com)-Missouri Governor Mike Parson announces a new incentive for Missouri citizens to get the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday.

The announcement will be made at a press conference at Jefferson City’s Capitol at 3:00 pm. According to media reports, the person is considering introducing a COVID-19 vaccine incentive program that may feature a “substantial grand prize.”

The person also appoints a new state health director. Dr. Randall Williams resigned in April during state vaccination. Williams was appointed by former Governor Eric Greatens in 2017. Robert Nodel has been acting director of health since Williams resigned.

Both announcements will be made when the Delta variant spreads throughout Missouri and hospitalizations increase.
