Grundy County, Tennessee (WKRN) — A passing driver was attacked on Sunday night when a Grundy County adjutant helped a driver stuck by the side of a freeway.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Secretary Logan Falkner was heading west on Highway 399 around 6 pm and saw a disabled Chevrolet Blazer in the westbound lane.

According to investigators, Deputy Forkner stopped for help and turned on his blue light.

While the adjutant was talking to the Chevrolet Blazer driver, he said the silver Chrysler Sebring driver had attacked the Blazer and Deputy Folkner patrol vehicles.

No injuries were reported, but several vehicles were damaged, including a secondary cruiser.

The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
