Person hospitalized after being hit by Port Authority bus in Shadyside – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

One was hospitalized late Friday night after being attacked by a Port Authority bus in the Shadyside district of Pittsburgh. The Port Authority bus on Route 71D was heading inbound around 11:00 pm when it collided with a pedestrian on Fifth Avenue near Maryland Street. According to Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolf, the first responders transported pedestrians to UPMC Presvitirian Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The windshield of the bus was shattered by the impact. According to Brandolph, pedestrian ID has not yet been provided. No other injuries have been reported. Eight passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash. Bus drivers were tested for drugs and alcohol in accordance with Port Authority policy.
