Colorado Springs-Pikes Peak United Way is working to help families in Harrison School District 2 with a district-wide adoption Christmas drive.

Twenty-two school counselors have worked together to collect a list of families who may not be able to provide their necessities and gifts to them during this holiday season. Each family can be adopted as part of a drive.

PPUW is calling on people in the Colorado Springs region and beyond to consider adopting their families this season to bring additional magic in time for their vacation. The site contains a list of each family’s needs and needs and a brief description of each family’s current situation.

The local Amazon distribution center has joined PPUW and has already adopted 64 families. On Thursday, December 9th, Amazon will hand over a check to PPUW to purchase gifts for each family member.

PPUW’s Emerging Leaders Council is re-employing schools to support this season. This year, 220 students at Stratmoor Hills Elementary School will be presented with gifts. Tuesday, December 7th, Council members, sponsor T-Mobile, and volunteers get together and wrap gifts before they are delivered.

If you would like to help wrap gifts, a party will be held at the Space Foundation Discovery Center from 6 pm to 8 pm.
