Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) —Pima County residents have the opportunity to cool off for the first time in over a year this summer.
The pool and splash pad in Pima County will reopen on Saturday, May 29th. The county changes several summer swimming programs each season and varies from place to place.
Earlier this year The county has started hiring and training lifeguards Place staff in the pool. The CDC says it is unaware of the scientific research on COVID-19 that extends to pools and other aquatic facilities. Health experts say the chlorine used in the pool kills COVID-19 and other viruses.
“We do the basics that the CDC put out for the pool. It’s the hygiene standards, expectations and cleanliness of the facility,” Grant Burge, Pima County Park and Recreation Program Manager, told KGUN9 earlier this year.
Visit the Pima County website For all the details of that pool and splash pad.
