Pima County, Arizona — Pima County Recorder, F. Anrodriguez will hold a press conference on Saturday morning to discuss the large number of early votes that will be returned during the first 10 days of early voting.
According to Recorder’s Office, the county has mailed a record number of 505,903 early votes since October 7. Rodriguez will provide the number of votes returned so far tomorrow.
Voters are voting early on county-wide early voting sites, but due to the large number of votes returned, the time between receiving a vote and being scanned by the tracking system is longer than expected. .. , Processing can take up to 4-6 days. Recorder’s Office operates two shifts daily, including weekends, to meet the high demand for returned ballots.
“I have never seen such an early number of votes,” F. Anrodriguez said in a statement. “We are doing our best to catch up, but when we handle this large number of votes, the general public needs to put up with us a bit.”
Voters who voted early can track their votes online.
