Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — Friday, 16-year-old Elena Chanes officially opened with a red ribbon. PimaJTED’s innovative learning center at The Bridges..
“I participate in robotics programs during the day, and I also take two night classes, a drone program and an engineering program,” says Chanes.
Chanes is one of about 800 high school students taking classes at the new center. Pima JTED offers hands-on training in a variety of career and technical disciplines.
“We actually opened the school a year ago, but last year the students didn’t meet in person. It was held many times in hybrid mode. This fall is really the grand opening of this campus.” Said Pima JTED. Director, Kathy Placer.
After graduation, students are ready to enroll in higher education or enter the workforce. Many people have the opportunity to work for Tucson at a company like Raytheon.
“We promised $ 100,000 to support JTED. As Raytheon continues to grow in the community, we will contact and partner with educational institutions to help grow the next generation of employees in our business. It’s very important to do that, “said Raytheon Vice President. Allen couture for operations and security.
The construction cost of the entire campus was $ 17 million. Mr. Placer said he deserves an investment in Tucson’s future.
“This is what we consider to be the flagship for Tucson’s future, the community, and the future careers of young people. We are really excited,” said Praser.
