A Pittsburgh firefighter drowned during a family trip on Lake Erie on Saturday. According to family sources, 38-year-old Lee Weber was caught on a breakwater during a family trip in Conneaut, Ohio, and went underwater. A Detroit security helicopter was called in to assist in the search, along with a water rescue team from Lake City, Erie County, Pennsylvania. Weber’s body was found about an hour later. A Pittsburgh firefighter drowned during a family outing on Lake Erie on Saturday.

According to family sources, 38-year-old Lee Weber was caught on a breakwater and went underwater while his family was out in Conneaut, Ohio.

A Detroit Coast Guard helicopter was called in to assist in the search, along with a water rescue team from Lake City, Erie County, Pennsylvania.

Weber’s body was found about an hour later.

Weber has been working for the Pittsburgh Fire Department since June 2015.
