Allegheny-Fayette President Darin Kelly of the Central Labor Council announced the cancellation at a press conference on Wednesday. The parade was also canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second cancellation of the parade, the first in 2020. Last year, ACLC celebrated frontline workers by hosting the Labor Day Weekend of Service, which provides emergency food rations and volunteer cleaning of local parks and veterans’ monuments.
