Placer County (CBS13) – A vigilant Placer County resident helped authorities track down allegations of three postal thieves.
Around 1 am on Thursday, Placer County residents noticed a vehicle that appeared to be suspiciously looking at a nearby mailbox, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle then rushed into a nearby field, and when an agent arrived, it was reported to have found a “significant” amount of stolen mail at the scene of the accident. The email was from people in the Lincoln, Granite Bay, and Sacramento areas.
The suspects were identified as 30-year-old General Bartholomew in Sacramento County, 28-year-old Rayrina Saras in Sacramento County, and 25-year-old Jeremy Marchi in Mendoshino County.
Both Saras and Marqui had unresolved warrants in Sacramento County. Congressman searched Saras’s wallet and found several credit cards and California driver’s licenses owned by other individuals.
All three suspects were arrested on suspicion of personal information theft, conspiracy, and concealment of evidence. Saras was also arrested for counterfeiting and possession of a driver’s license for the purpose of her warrant. After his arrest, lawmakers spent the next few hours delivering mail to legitimate owners.
